UW-Madison sent a campus-wide email Tuesday to alert students about a robbery that occurred Monday night just off campus.
The male victim fell off his skateboard just before 9 p.m. and the group of five people he was with offered to drive him to the hospital for medical treatment, according to the email. They walked to the parking ramp at Lake Street and Johnson Street and, when they were inside, the group assaulted the victim. The suspects stole the victim’s money, phone and wallet.
The email said the robbery was likely not random, and that at least one of the suspects knew the victim.
The crime was reported to the UW-Madison Police Department early Monday morning, but descriptions of the five suspects have not yet been provided.
