UW-Madison student cut while attempting to intervene in situation of partner violence

UW-Madison sent a campus-wide message Saturday to alert the student body about a Friday night incident of violence near Camp Randall Stadium.

As two UW-Madison students attempted to intervene in a an apparent intimate partner fight occurring outside of 45 N. Randall St., the man instigating the violence went inside of a building and returned with a knife. He cut the hand of one of the intervening students several times, according to the email.

The student later received medical attention at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department, according to the email.

The crime was reported to the Madison Police Department, and the email urged anyone with information to contact the police at 608-255-2345.
