Capitol Square construction to continue

This Monday S&L Underground will continue the Capitol Square construction project by starting work on North Pinckney Street between East Washington Avenue and North Hamilton Street, and on East Mifflin Street between North Hamilton Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue.

The Capitol Square will also be closed this weekend for the annual Crazylegs Run Saturday.

Work between West Washington Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue will also continue. The Dane County Farmer’s Market will continue as usual, but traffic will be closed in select spots due to the market and pedestrian safety on those days.

The annual Art Fair on the Square will also be held. Temporary pavement will be put down for the July 9 and 10 event.

Throughout construction, the left parking lane and its adjacent lane will remain open. They will, however, close for four weeks starting near the end of May and for two weeks in July.

Madison Metro will continue with altered routes until the project is completed. It is expected to be finished around mid-August.
