The Memorial Union Terrace will open temporarily May 12 until midnight May 15. The opening gives individuals a final opportunity on their graduation weekend to enjoy the Terrace as UW-Madison students.
Graduates can participate in a university tradition by placing the sunburst chairs back on the Terrace; students will meet at the N. Park Street entrance and begin redecorating at 3:30 p.m. May 12.
The Shannon Sunset Lounge will offer drinks and appetizers May 13 and 14. Wisconsin Union Terrace food and refreshments from the Paul Bunyan Room will also be available.
The Terrace can be accessed from N. Park Street, N. Lake Street and the west end of Lakeshore Path.
Construction will resume after the event. The Wisconsin Union plans to permanently reopen the Terrace May 20, 2016.
