The man shot in the head Sept. 28 on the 2,700 Block of McDivitt Road died Monday night at a local hospital. The unidentified man was 25.
"This case had been upgraded to a homicide,” Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in an incident report. “The suspect remains at large.”
MPD identified the suspect as Brandon P. Crockett, 27, of Madison. Detectives believe the conflict between the victim and the suspect was personal, and the incident was not drug- or gang-related.
"He should be considered armed and dangerous," DeSpain wrote. "Anyone with information about him should call 911."
The medical examiner is expected to release the victim’s identity, according to MPD.
