Streets to close Saturday night for Freakfest

Several intersections will close to allow for Freakfest Saturday, disrupting traffic and bus routes, according to a city press release.

The intersections of North Lake, West Gilman, West Johnson and West Dayton streets at State Street will close at 5 p.m. Saturday. The intersection at West Gorham Street and State Street will stay open until 6 p.m. to allow for traffic from the Badger game against Nebraska. The intersections will stay closed until 3 a.m. Sunday.

Madison Police Department officers will also control traffic at the North Bassett Street and West Washington Avenue intersection from around 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Traffic coming down Bassett will not be able to go straight at Washington, while northbound traffic on Washington will only be able to turn right.

All bikes will also be removed from the entire length of State Street on Saturday.
