The Madison Police Department dispatch received two reports of gunshots following the Chicago Cubs'x victory in the World Series Wednesday night.
According to an MPD incident report, an officer on duty also heard a “possible” gunshot, but the officer heard “nothing that allowed the officer to specifically locate the source.”
“Based on the calls originating from different locations in the city, and the time of the reports, it is believed that the gunshots may have been a [celebratory] response,” officer Anthony Fiore wrote in the report.
No scenes, suspects, victims or property damage had been reported as of 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
