A parked truck was engulfed in flames on the 1600 block of South Park Street and had slogans against President-elect Donald Trump spray painted on it, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
Several pedestrians called in the fire just before midnight Friday.
“The MPD was able to contact the man who had been driving the Dodge Ram. He was at a holiday party when the fire was spotted,” MPD Public Information Officer Joel DeSpain wrote in the report. “The 27-year-old did not know who would want to damage his vehicle and said he had not engaged in any heated political discussions at the social gathering he attended.”
MPD officers are looking for information related to the incident
