A 55-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint downtown early Sunday morning, according to Madison Police Department.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. near Brittingham Park.
The victim told police a car had honked at him while he was walking near West Washington Avenue. He said he knew the two passengers in the vehicle, but did not know the driver.
The passengers offered the victim a ride, police said, in exchange for gas money.
When the group arrived at Brittingham Park, the driver took out a gun while the victim was reaching for money. The victim was robbed and was kicked out of the car.
Police have not released any details on the suspects, who are still at large.
