Man arrested in connection with three recent downtown burglaries

A homeless man was arrested Wednesday in connection with three different downtown burglaries, according to the Madison Police Department.

Grahm T. Haferman, 32, faces several tentative theft charges.

Haferman allegedly targeted residential garages in the three cases from early January.

In two cases, two bikes were stolen from garages. In one case, a cellphone and other property was taken from a car.

MPD Burglary Crime Unit connected the theft incidents after Haferman pawned the stolen items.

When contacted by police, Haferman denied responsibility for the burglaries, claiming he was pawning the items for a friend.
