A man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night outside of his Langdon Street residence.
The robbery happened on the 10 block of Langdon Street around 10:48 p.m., Madison Police Department Lt. Timothy Radke said in an incident report.
The victim said he was approached by a group of five black men between the ages of 13 and 19 while walking down Langdon Street. He was asked for a light by the “oldest” man in the group, Radke said, and replied that he had one at home.
The suspect—and later, the rest of the group—followed the victim to his nearby residence, where the victim went inside to get a lighter. When the victim returned, the suspect held the barrel of a black handgun to the victim’s chest and demanded money.
After giving the suspect cash out of his wallet, the victim ran back inside. The suspect was described by police as having short hair and wearing a dark-colored zip-up, and those accompanying him fled in an unknown direction.
The investigation is ongoing.
