A man carrying a knife was reported in the parking lot below Helen C. White Hall, according to a WiscAlert. He was last seen in Lot 6 at 7:46 p.m. and walked toward Lake Mendota. He was noticed displaying the knife when fighting with an unidentified man and a woman.
The suspect was identified by witnesses and surveillance footage as a white man with blond hair. He was seen wearing a striped hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
An 8:33 p.m. WiscAlert said UWPD believed all three had fled the area and declared the threat was over.
No victims have come forward and the crime remains under investigation, according to a UWPD incident report.
