Everyone’s favorite badger made his modeling debut Wednesday, showing off UW-Madison’s new commencement attire that adds a “splash of Badger red” to the previously all-black gowns.
In place of the former traditional gowns, undergraduate and graduate students will wear the colorful new attire featuring the addition of a school crest. Gowns for master’s and doctoral graduates depart even further from the traditional outfit, as they feature red stripes streaming down the front.
Bucky’s sense of style was highlighted in a press release that encouraged the big-headed mammal to “work it.”
“He’s confident. He’s focused. He’s ready to take on the world,” the press release reads. “Bucky demands attention in this swoon-worthy ensemble from UW–Madison’s new spring commencement line.”
Commencement ceremonies will be held May 12 and 13, and the university says the new gowns are “perfect for the spotlight these graduates are about to find themselves in.”
