UWPD is investigating an attempted abduction that occurred early Monday morning near Ingraham Hall.
According to a UWPD crime alert, a UW-Madison student was walking home from College Library at approximately 1 a.m. when she was attacked from behind by an unknown man. The victim was placed in a headlock and forcibly taken to a parking lot near the Social Sciences building, according to the report. The suspect — armed with an edged weapon — struck the victim multiple times before the victim escaped.
An email from UWPD to the campus community describes the suspect as a 5-feet-8-inches, 175 pound white male with a thin build. He was last seen wearing thin black-framed glasses and a beanie and left the area in a green vehicle.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to the report.
