It's now been 322 days since No. 5 Wisconsin (4-0 Big Ten, 7-0 overall) lost a game, as it rolled to another easy victory on Saturday, defeating Maryland (1-3 conference, 3-4 overall), 38-13.
The Badgers, led by seven catches for 83 yards from senior tight end Troy Fumagalli, have now won four-straight conference games, overcoming self-inflicted mistakes inyet another time this season.
Wisconsin wasted no time harrying quarterback Max Bortenschlager, as the sophomore was pressured into an interception to redshirt junior linebacker T.J. Edwards on the first drive of the game.
Edwards would return the pick 54 yards for a touchdown, marking the team's fourth pick-six of the season and giving the Badgers an early 7-0 lead.
The Badgers wouldn't score an offensive touchdown until the second quarter, however, as redshirt sophomore quarterback Alex Hornibrook threw an interception inside Maryland territory with 5:33 remaining in the first quarter.
True freshman running back Jonathan Taylor would make a blunder of his own on the next drive, gifting the Terrapins a fumble with the Badgers just five yards away from their own end zone.
After Maryland was held to a field goal following the fumble, Taylor was used sparingly on the next drive, but the freshman running back would cap the Badgers' 10-play, 70-yard effort with a three-yard score. Taylor gave the Badgers a 14-3 lead with this play, and finished the day with 126 yards on 22 attempts.
Hornibrook would amend his earlier mistake with a well executed play-action score to redshirt junior tight end Zander Neuville before half time, and later found A.J Taylor on an 18-yard strike to give the Badgers a 25-point lead in the third period.
Wisconsin cruised for the remainder of the contest, and walked away with a 7-0 record for the first time since 2004.
Hornibrook finished the game with 225 passing yards, while sophomore wide receiver Quintez Cephus marked his sixth-straight game with at least 45 yards receiving.
Maryland found some success running the ball, with tail backs Lorenzo Harrison III and Ty Johnson finishing with over 63 yards each.
The Terrapins struggled in the air, though, as Bortenschlager finished with just 125 yards after a performance that largely consisted of check downs and swing passes.
The Terrapins will host Indiana next Saturday, while the Badgers will play at Illinois looking to keep their undefeated record intact.
