State Street hairdresser arrested after violent cut

For one Madison man, a routine haircut at a State Street salon went suddenly awry — literally.

Stylist and owner of Ruby’s Salon, 46-year-old Khaled A. Shabani was arrested last Friday for mayhem and disorderly conduct while armed after a customer reported a disastrous and at points violent haircut.

According to the victim, Shabani quickly began to twist his ear and accuse him of fidgeting and moving his head.

Shabani then snipped the victim’s ear with scissors, drawing blood and used a “zero” attachment on his clipper to cut a streak right down the middle of his head.

The victim promptly left, completed his haircut elsewhere and reported the incident to the Madison Police Department.

Shabani told the MPD that the incident was an accident.
