A burglary reportedly occurred inside a resident’s room in Sellery Hall Sunday, according to a UW-Madison Crime Warning.
As many as four suspects — who are not believed to be UW-Madison students — gained access to the residential floors of Sellery sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. by “piggybacking” from other residents, according to the warning. UWPD has reason to believe there may be more than one victim.
The warning said it is believed the suspects may have entered Witte Hall later in the day.
Campus police are actively investigating the case, and anyone with information is asked to contact UWPD. Police encourage students in residence halls to carefully check their rooms and to contact police if they believe something has been stolen.
