Madison Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Associated Bank on Monroe Street, according to a WiscAlert issued Thursday morning, although a later campus-wide message said there was no threat to students.
According to the alert, a man showed a gun before fleeing in an unknown direction. The man is described as being in his mid 20s and is approximately 5’10” with a thin build. He is wearing a black baggy hoodie and black baggy pants, the alert said.
Madison Police initially said to avoid the general area. They later announced that they believed the suspect had fled the area and that there was no threat to students at that time, according to a final WiscAlert.
