A man was arrested on Capitol Square late Friday evening for threatening a 45-year-old woman with a box cutter.
The suspect, 31-year-old Carlo Wilkes, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct while armed. According to a police report, the suspect had been engaged in a dispute involving several other people in which he produced a box cutter. The victim, concerned about the safety of children in the area, confronted the suspect who subsequently threatened her with the weapon.
The victim reported the incident to the police, who used surveillance cameras in the area to identify the suspect and make the arrest. The police identified the suspect as having no permanent address.
