The UW-Madison Police Department was involved in a pedestrian-vehicle collision on campus Thursday afternoon, according to a UWPD release.
According to the release, the occupant of a vehicle stopped at a routine traffic stop and fled her vehicle around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspect — a 15-year-old girl — ran across Park Street toward the Humanities Building when she was struck by a separate UWPD squad vehicle entering the building parking lot.
The suspect was conscious and breathing at the scene, the release said, and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
Due to UWPD’s involvement, the Madison Police Department is investigating the incident.
UWPD will also conduct its own review of the incident, per department policy.
