UW-Milwaukee has officially welcomed UW-Waukesha and UW-Washington County as satellite campuses as a result of the extensive UW System restructuring adopted in July.
As incoming students find their place on campus, over 2,000 two-year institution students will find their place alongside UW-Milwaukee students.
UW-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone hopes all students shifting from two- to four-year institutions will experience a “seamless” transfer.

The restructuring consolidated 13 two-year campuses with the seven four-year universities, providing students with more opportunities within the university as well as boosting accessibility in southeastern Wisconsin.
UW-Milwaukee offers students 192 programs to participate within, including 30 online degrees and certificates. They also feature over 850 online courses, providing ample opportunities to pursue degrees for students not on the main campus.
Mone noted the significance of their location as a deciding factor of over 1,400 industry recruits from UW-Milwaukee each year. More than 80 percent of their graduates obtain valuable work experience, including internships and co-ops.
“For the long term, we see the addition of satellite campuses as a positive change to make education more accessible to those in our region. These campuses are a valuable launchpad and expand opportunities for thousands of students,” Mone said.
