The Student Service Finance Committee granted Badger Catholic their requested budget of $98,597.50 for 2019-’20 in its meeting Monday night.
After underspending by 28 percent in the previous fiscal year, Badger Catholic requested less funding for the upcoming year.
“It is obviously very concerning they underspent by 28 percent. However, action has been taken, and they are being very compliant with our organization; I feel very comfortable voting in favor of this budget,” said Representative Landon Tselepis.
Since the semester was shortened to 14 weeks for the upcoming year, the budget for salaries was decreased in accordance with this change.
Representative Cooper Beckwith met with Badger Catholic previously this week to further discuss their budget, coming to the conclusion the organization is capable of spending its entire budget in the future.
“This is a responsible budget, and all my concerns about salary have been addressed,” said Representative Josh Waldoch.
