The UW-Madison Student Services Finance Committee heard budget requests from the Child Care Tuition Assistance Program and the ASM Transportation Board during their meeting Monday night.
CCTAP requested a budget increase of $44,587, from $1,114,686 in 2018-’19 to $1,159,273 in the upcoming fiscal year.
The national program is designed to give students with children access to high-quality, affordable child care. Over the last year, 120 educators worked with the 358 children enrolled in the program on campus, and numbers will increase next year when the system expands to four new facilities.
The Transportation Board requested a 4.5 percent budget decrease, which would drop their 2018 $4,378,630 operating budget down to $4,359,998. Despite that, buss pass usage actually bumped up slightly last semester, with 30,796 passes distributed during fall 2018.
SSFC will vote on both budgets at their next meeting.
