Interim Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education Norman Drinkwater will remain in the position for the foreseeable future. 

Search for Vice Chancellor put on hold

Campus officials announced Thursday the search for a new vice chancellor will continue into the fall semester. 

The position of Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education is held in the interim by Norman Drinkwater. The search for a new candidate started back in September after Marsha Mailick retired from the position. 

“I’m grateful for Norman’s willingness to remain in this job for the time being and for the excellent job he has done over the past year in this position,” Chancellor Rebecca Blank said. “I’ll be talking with him and others about how we re-initiate a search.”

The job requires responsibility over the graduate school and includes oversight of a $1.2 billion research portfolio across numerous disciplines. The graduate school serves 9,200 students in 158 master’s and 109 doctoral programs, according to the university
