Packer fan Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-WI, re-introduced legislation that would require every cable, satellite and video provider to broadcast Green Bay Packers games to all Wisconsin subscribers.
Baldwin’s intention is to support Packer fans who live within the 12 Wisconsin border counties that are currently on a Minnesota TV market. If passed, the proposed Go Pack Go Act would ensure that those homes are being broadcast Packers games — not the Vikings games that air simultaneously.
“My Go Pack Go Act would give Packers fans in every Wisconsin county the opportunity to receive in-state broadcasts, so they can cheer on our beloved green and gold,” Baldwin said in a press release.
According to the release, nearly 400,000 Wisconsinites live in the counties that have been assigned to an out-of-state market. This bill would give them the choice to have either state’s programming for the games, in addition to news and weather networks.
