A young girl was assaulted while riding a Madison Metro bus Sunday to the east side of the city near South Baldwin street.
The Madison Police Department believes the suspect to be a Hispanic male in his late 40s, approximately 200 pounds, possible facial hair, wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and carrying a big backpack.
The victim described the scene as the suspect was initially seated a few rows behind her but continued to move closer to her as the ride went on and was soon directly behind her.
The suspect proceeded to grope the victim on the stomach and buttocks several times, according to an MPD report released by Public Information Officer Lorie Anderson.
The victim said she moved seats on the bus after the groping, prompting the suspect to disembark near the capitol.
