Man arrested following Langdon Street shots-fired incident

Police arrested Brandon M. Buckner Sr., 28, for recklessly endangering safety after Thursday night’s Langdon shooting.

Numerous callers reported shots being fired on the 600 block of Langdon Street Thursday night.

Police officers discovered bullets and shell casings at the scene and property damage, as one bullet pierced a nearby office window. There was no one in the office at the time.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives determined the shots-fired incident occurred after a dispute inside a second-floor apartment on State Street. Following a confrontation inside the apartment, Buckner and an acquaintance exchanged gunfire in a nearby alleyway, according to an incident report.

In the report, the Madison Police Department thanked the UW-Madison Police Department for their assistance at the scene.

Central District detectives and patrol officers are working with MPD’s Violent Crime Unit for the remainder of the case investigation. More arrests are anticipated, according to the department.
