The City Clerk’s Office of Madison has issued 7,562 absentee ballots for Tuesday’s primary election, surpassing last February’s record of 7,438 absentee ballots.
With three days left until absentee voting closes, the number of ballots received by the clerk’s office is expected to grow.
The election on Tuesday will be for contested races for the Madison School Board as well as the state Supreme Court.
For voters who still wish to submit absentee ballots, City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl recommends dropping off ballots at the nearest absentee voting site — since there is no mail delivery on Monday due to President’s Day.
There are 17 locations for early voting in Madison, including UW-Madison’s Union South, the City Clerk’s office and Madison Public Library.
