Victim of Blair Street homicide identified

Officials have confirmed the identity of the victim in the Blair Street homicide as Aaron X. Johnson, age 22.

Madison Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to the area of 100 N. Blair Street in response to a report of a subject shot on Saturday afternoon.

Madison Police stated in an incident report they located the deceased individual inside the home after they arrived on the scene Saturday at 3:46 p.m. Investigators do not believe this is a random incident and it is likely the victim knew his killer.

The Office of the Dane County Medical Examiner announced preliminary results from the autopsy confirm Mr. Johnson died from homicidal firearm violence.

This death remains under investigation by the City of Madison Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
