An email was sent to all residents of Witte Residence Hall Friday morning announcing the death of a student and member of the 8th floor community.
At this time, the university is not sharing any personal information with the public to respect the family's privacy.
A meeting was held at 11 a.m. Friday morning in Witte to allow students to mourn as a community. The purpose of the meeting was not to share further detail about the passing of the student.
“Please keep in mind this meeting is not meant to share details of the resident’s passing,” Dylan Kersten, a resident life coordinator at Witte said. “But to provide a space for folks to process and be in community with one another.”
University Health Services Mental Health Services was in attendance.
