The Wisconsin men’s golf team traveled to Saucier, Mississippi, to compete in their final tournament of the season at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. Twelve teams competed in the tournament from Oct. 15-17. Wisconsin finished the tournament in seventh place with a score of 20-over-par.
Day one
The Badgers golfers struggled in their first round, carding a 302 (+14) for last place. Cameron Huss led the Badgers, shooting a 1-under-71 with four birdies. Jacob Beckman followed with a 2-over-73, then Coalter Smith with a 6-over-78, Blake Wisdom with a 7-over-79 and Graham Moody with a 9-over-81. James Boustead wrapped up the Badgers’ lineup, shooting a 12-over-84 with an eagle on hole six.
Day two
Wisconsin improved in the second round, scoring a 294 (+6) and moving into ninth place. Huss continued to lead the Badgers, scoring a 2-under-70 with six birdies before ending the round tied for fourth. Huss was followed by Beckman and Wisdom, who each shot a 1-over-73.a Boustead followed with a 6-over-78. Finishing out the lineup were Smith and Moody, each with an 8-over-80.
Day three
The Badgers moved up two places in the final round with their best score of the tournament to finish in seventh. Once again, Huss led the Wisconsin team, shooting a 2-under-70. Beckman, also carding a 2-under-70, scored an eagle on hole six. Next came Smith with a 1-over-73, Boustead with a 3-over-75 and Wisdom with a 6-over-78. Moody rounded out the Badgers’ lineup and placed 72nd individually with a 14-over-par.
Wisconsin finished the tournament 20-over-par, scoring a 302-294-288 for total team score of 884. Huss saw his best performance of the season, placing fifth with 16 birdies. Auburn placed first among teams with a 21-under-par finish, and SMU’s Matthew Foster placed first individually at eight-under-par.
