A fire broke out at State Street Brats around 8:50 p.m. Thursday and was contained shortly after.
Samuel Mayo, an employee at the restaurant, said the fire was located in the kitchen and didn’t spread to the main area. The restaurant immediately contained the fire and evacuated customers, he said.
Employees were told they could re-enter the restaurant shortly before 9:15 p.m.
A representative from the Madison Police Department was not immediately available for comment.
