Two UW-Madison students physically assaulted on campus

University police are actively investigating the case.

Two students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison were physically assaulted at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sunday by two strangers at the intersection of Linden Drive and Observatory Drive.

According to an email sent to students by UWPD, the assailants were part of a group of six men. Three of them detached from the main group to follow the students. The victims reported being struck in the face and head by two of the men as the others watched the assault take place. 

The victims were able to walk away from the scene and were unaware of where the men went afterward.

UWPD is still investigating this case.
