The University of Wisconsin Police Department (UWPD) is investigating a battery reported outside of Grainger Hall on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., according to a UW-Madison crime warning alert sent Thursday.
A witness reported seeing a male perpetrator run up to a female victim, grab the victim by the throat and strike the victim multiple times, according to the email.
At this time, the victim has not contacted UWPD, according to the email. The department is actively investigating this case.
