Former Colorado State and Missouri guard John Tonje signed with the Wisconsin Badgers men's Basketball team Thursday, according to a press release.
Tonje played his first four seasons at Colorado State before transferring to Missouri for his fifth year. His fifth season was cut short after eight games due to a lingering foot injury he suffered in the offseason. Tonje will be playing his sixth and final season in Wisconsin because of medical redshirt eligibility.
In his fourth season at Colorado State, Tonje averaged 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He shot 38.9% from three on great shot volume. Tonje has shot just above 37% from beyond the arc in his career.
"John has good positional size, strength and the ability to help impact our team immediately on both ends of the floor," Badgers head coach Greg Gard said in a press release Thursday. "Everything about John as a person, student and player is in line with who we want in our locker room. His presence will be noticeable on our team from day one."
Tonje follows Xavier Amos and Camren Hunter as the third transfer to sign with the Badgers in the past week.
