Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Oct. 30 to hold a “Get Out the Vote” event less than a week out from the Nov. 5 election, a campaign official said.
Musicians Gracie Abrams, Mumford and Sons, Remi Wolf and The National’s Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner will perform at the rally and mobilize the community to turn the youth vote out.
Dane County is the fastest-growing county in the state. In the 2023 spring election, UW-Madison students flocked to the polls for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz in record numbers.
Campus wards containing university residence halls saw 91.3% of voters cast ballots for Protasiewicz — 10% more than Dane County as a whole, according to voting data from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
Harris last visited Madison Sept. 20 to rally for abortion rights and small businesses at the Alliant Energy Center.
