Boba tea 2

UW-Madison dining halls offering boba tea at select locations

Drinks with boba will be available at the Southeast Cafe inside Gordon Avenue Market and at the Bean and Creamery inside Four Lakes Market during opening hours.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Dining and Culinary Services is now serving boba tea drinks at select dining locations, according to a video posted to the UW Housing Instagram page with the caption, “Boba is here.”

Drinks with boba will be available at the Southeast Cafe inside Gordon Avenue Market and at the Bean and Creamery inside Four Lakes Market during opening hours.

Drink offerings include five types of milk teas and five types of fruit teas. Boba options include brown sugar tapioca, strawberry popping, mango popping and freeze-dried blueberries. Smoothies will also be available, with flavors including taro, strawberry and mango.

Both locations are also offering two limited time drinks, a blue raspberry boba chiller with strawberry boba and a dragon fruit boba chiller with crystal boba.

“This menu is subject to change as we learn what flavors and combinations are most popular with our students,” Brendon Dybdahl, director of marketing & communications

for University Housing, told The Daily Cardinal in an email.

Prices for the drinks range from $4.99 to $5.49 and can be purchased with student dining plan dollars. However, none of the new products will be eligible for a meal exchange, according to Dybdahl.

“We will evaluate it this semester to see if this is something we might add to the meal exchange in the future,” he said.
