Wisconsin women's basketball head coach Marisa Moseley resigned following the conclusion of her fourth season, UW Athletics announced in a statement Sunday night.
The news was first reported earlier in the afternoon by On3 Sports, but at that time, UW Athletics told WKOW that Moseley “has not been relieved of her duties.” Around 7:30 p.m., UW Athletics released a statement noting that Mosely had chosen to resign due to “personal reasons.”
"Marisa informed me this past Friday that she would be stepping down," UW Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh said in a statement.
Moseley was hired as the head coach of women’s basketball in March 2021. Her resignation comes on the heels of the Badgers' first-round exit in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament, where they lost to Iowa 81-54. Despite the success of forward Serah Williams, the Badgers ended with a 13-17 record overall and a 4-14 record in conference play.
After four seasons with the Badgers, Moseley ends her tenure with a record of 45-75, zero NCAA Tournament appearances and a trip to the WNIT Quarterfinals last year.
Associate head coach Margaret McKeon will take over coaching duties as a “national search” begins to find the next women's basketball coach, according to UW Athletics.
