The Wisconsin volleyball team began their three-game away series by facing Indiana on Wednesday, Oct. 5. They swept the Hoosiers, winning 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19. Sarah Franklin had a match-high 13 kills, followed by Danielle Hart who totaled 10. Wisconsin out-blocked Indiana 13-4 and grabbed their 14th-straight match win against the Hoosiers.

Wisconsin returned to the Field House for their third conference game on Friday night to face No. 9 Penn State. Penn State entered with an overall record of 12-1 and 1-1 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin, ranked 12th in the nation, was also 1-1 in the Big Ten conference and was 7-3 overall.

After their first two conference matches, the Badger women are back at the UW Fieldhouse to face their next two Big Ten opponents. No. 8 Wisconsin (7-3) will face the No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions (12-1) on Friday and the Illinois Fighting Illini (7-5) on Sunday.

On Friday night, Wisconsin hosted Northwestern for the Big Ten Conference opener at the UW Field House. Northwestern entered Friday’s game 11-1 facing the No. 6 national ranked Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is coming off of a relatively easy win against Rhode Island from the previous weekend — taking all three sets. The Badgers looked to begin another win streak.

Wisconsin volleyball stepped foot in the Kohl Center for the first time in 24 years, taking on No. 16 Florida. The Badgers shattered the previous record for largest attendance in a regular season match with a sold out arena holding 16,833 people. Unfortunately Wisconsin was not able to pull out the win, falling 2-3 to the Gators.

The regular season has ended for the No. 4 ranked Wisconsin Badgers (25-3) and they are onto the NCAA Championship tournament. The Badgers start off the tournament this Friday at the UW Field House against the Colgate University Raiders (18-9). A win for the Badgers guarantees them a game on Saturday night.

The No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers (20-2, 12-2) have returned home after a two-week long road trip around the Midwest for a weekend of Big Ten matches. On Friday, the Badgers will play a highly anticipated rematch against the Purdue Boilermakers, and on Sunday, they will face the Northwestern Wildcats (11-14, 6-8), one of the teams they swept last weekend.

The Badgers (20-2, 12-2) remain ranked No. 4 after taking down both Northwestern (11-14, 6-8) and Iowa (4-20, 2-12) in three sets each. This ends Wisconsin's long road trip, which started back on Oct. 27 with a sweep against Nebraska.

The no. 4 Wisconsin women’s volleyball team (18-2, 10-2) is on the road yet again, facing two more Big Ten teams before heading back home. They will first face the Northwestern Wildcats (10-13, 5-7) on Friday, before traveling to Iowa on Saturday to face the Hawkeyes (3-19, 1-11) for the second time this season.

The No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers women’s volleyball team has fallen to a Big Ten team for the second time this season, making them now 18-2 and 10-2 in conference play. The Badgers lost in four sets to the now No. 8 Purdue Boilermakers, 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 28-26, ending their nine-match winning streak.

During an exciting weekend at home, the No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers (17-1) took down No. 6 Ohio State (16-4) in four sets on Friday before beating No. 14 Penn State Nittany Lions (14-6) in a tense five-set duel on Saturday. These results keep Wisconsin at the No. 3 spot, while Ohio State and Penn State dropped to No. 9 and 13, respectively.

After a big sweep against No. 7 Minnesota on Friday night, the No. 5 Wisconsin women’s volleyball team headed down to Urbana-Champaign (11-4) on Sunday afternoon where they took down the Illinois fighting Illini in four sets. The Badgers are now 11-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big 10 Conference.

The Badgers pulled off their eighth sweep of the season on Friday night in front of a 7,540 person crowd at the Wisconsin Field House. The fans’ excitement was contagious as Wisconsin’s volleyball team defeated their conference rivals 25-17, 25-22, 25-17.

After a successful weekend at the Field House, the undefeated Badgers (6-0) will travel to DeKalb this weekend to face the Green Bay Phoenix (4-6) and the Northern Illinois Huskies (6-2). The Badgers have been ranked No. 2 once again, after defeating both the reigning National Champions, the Kentucky Wildcats and the Marquette Golden Eagles.
