Battery reported outside UW-Madison residence hall

A battery reportedly involving a UW-Madison student outside a residence hall early Friday morning, according to a UW-Madison Crime Warning issued Saturday afternoon. The warning said the UW-Madison Police Department received the report Saturday and are actively investigating the incident.


The assaulter grabbed the victim's buttocks and fled the scene, according to police, who are still investigating the incident

MPD seeks suspect in University Avenue sexual assault

The Madison Police Department is looking for a suspect involved in a sexual assault and battery incident that occurred on the 600 block of University Avenue Saturday evening. The suspect allegedly aggressively grabbed the behind of a 20-year-old Madison woman prompting a 26-year-old Chicago man to approach the suspect about his action.


The Student Services Finance Committee, which allocates more than $1.3 million in segregated fees, was criticized this year for not being accessible to all students.

SSFC’s strict rules: A barrier or a safeguard for underrepresented student groups?

Every year, a panel of 15 students allocates $51 million dollars to services around campus. Of that $51 million, more than $1.3 million is given to student organizations that are a part of the General Student Services Fund. This year, the Student Services Finance Committee, which allocates those funds, was criticized for not being accessible to all students.

Controversial political commentator speaks on Judeo-Christian morality

UW-Madison students and community members gathered Wednesday in Sterling Hall to listen to conservative political commentator Dennis Prager speak on Judeo-Christian morality. During the event hosted by the Young Americans for Freedom, Prager discussed topics ranging from racism to “gender dysphoria.” Prager’s main concern in his “commencement address you won't hear from your school” was the question of how to make good people.

Incoming students largely choosing more expensive tier meal plan, data show

The majority of first-year students living in residence halls in the upcoming semester are selecting high-tiered options in the new meal plan program unveiled by University Dining, according to documents obtained by The Daily Cardinal. A document distributed at a meeting between a dining shared governance group and University Dining officials revealed that 73.66 percent of the 4,511 students who have signed their housing contracts for the fall chose to deposit a minimum of $2,100 onto their WisCard exclusively for on-campus dining.
