Diversity Committee needs direction

Last Tuesday, Gov. Scott Walker released his much-anticipated 2011-'13 biennial budget proposal. Built to eliminate Wisconsin's $3.6 billion deficit, the UW System expected the proposal to contain drastic cuts as well as major hits to pertinent educational programs — adding to already heated contentions over Walker's budget repair bill.
It has been over two weeks since the 14 Democratic senators fled Wisconsin, effectively ending debate and voting in the state's upper house. These politicians have been called everything from ""heroes"" to ""cowards"" for running away to the Land of Lincoln.
The new voter ID bill has taken the back burner with all the protests on the budget repair bill. The bill would require voters to show a photo ID in order to cast a ballot. It's not just any form of identification that is being required.
