Humans vs. zombies game adapts following weapon confusion

When the human survivors on campus made their last stand against an overwhelming zombie force Friday night, they were armed with socks rather than the standard Nerf guns, as part of a compromise with university officials after a week of heightened suspicions and unease regarding weapons following the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings.

Retraction regarding Whitewater faculty report from 2011

In an April 26, 2011 news story about a lawsuit filed against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by assistant professor Zhengnan Shi, The Daily Cardinal incorrectly reported that Shi had been fired, while he was still employed at the university. The Daily Cardinal regrets the error. The story also reported that Shi was being investigated for alleged remarks related to the Virginia Tech shootings. He has since been cleared of making the alleged remarks. We regret any misunderstanding the errors may have caused.

All Campus Party to take place next week

The University of Wisconsin-Madison will begin its annual All Campus Party Saturday, an end of the school year event hosted by Wisconsin Alumni Student Board and the Wisconsin Alumni Association. The event will kickoff with a scavenger hunt called Bucky’s Urban Odyssey on Saturday.   The Odyssey will start at 3 p.m. On Monday, there will be free breakfast for all students who present student IDs on East Campus Mall, Bascom Hill and Engineering Mall from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday will feature All Campus Idol at 7 p.m. at the Sett in Union South.  Students can vote for their favorite performer to win the title.   Wear Red, Get Fed will run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Engineering Mall.  The event will feature a student organization fair and free food for any students wearing red.   On Thursday, Club Bucky, one of the largest dance parties on campus, will begin at 9 p.m. and run until 12 a.m. in Union South Plaza.  Bring your student ID to enter.
