It is safe to say the Badgers were slightly snubbed with their seed for the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
No. 2 seed Wisconsin defeated Illinois 2-0 Wednesday in the first round of the Big Ten tournament in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Badgers (9-2-1 Big Ten, 15-2-1 overall) head into their final regular season game against Illinois (5-6-1, 10-7-1) looking to extend their win streak to five games.
After an enormous road win in Minneapolis, the Badgers (7-2-1 Big Ten, 13-2-1 overall) will take on Rutgers (7-2-1, 11-2-1) Friday in what will be the Badgers’ most important game of the season thus far.
After a brief slump where the Badgers fell to Penn State and tied Iowa, Wisconsin (6-2-1 Big Ten, 12-2-1 overall) heads to Minneapolis to take on Minnesota (5-3-1, 8-6-1) this Saturday.
Looking to rebound from its Sunday loss to No. 6 Penn State, No. 12 Wisconsin (5-2-1 Big Ten, 11-2-1 overall) played to a scoreless tie in double overtime against Iowa Wednesday.
After two Big Ten road shutouts to defeat Indiana and Purdue, No. 13 Wisconsin takes on Ohio State (2-3-0 Big Ten, 5-6-0 overall) Friday and No. 7 Penn State (5-0-0, 10-1-0) Sunday to begin a three-game homestand.
As the Badgers embark on their second major road trip of the season, they are hoping to have a little better luck than they did last time. Two weeks ago, they headed to Michigan, where they escaped with an overtime win in their first game before suffering their first loss of the season in the second.
After an up-and-down weekend that saw the Badgers’ seven-game winning streak come to an end, No. 13 Wisconsin (7-1-0) has had time to reflect as it prepares for another Big Ten opponent this weekend.
