In the last home game for seniors Morgan Paige, Taylor Wurtz and Daria Kryuchkova, the Wisconsin women’s basketball team (3-13 Big Ten, 10-18 overall) lost a hard-fought battle to Northwestern (5-11, 15-14) 77-73 in overtime Sunday at the Kohl Center.
Despite an aggressive second half of gameplay, Wisconsin (3-9 Big Ten, 10-14 overall) could not recover from a dismal, low-scoring first half against Minnesota (5-6, 16-9) Wednesday night at the Kohl Center.
“We’re obviously disappointed in our play today,” Wisconsin women’s basketball head coach Bobbie Kelsey said of the team’s 60-44 loss to Michigan Sunday afternoon at the Kohl Center. “Overall, I thought the kids played hard but it just wasn’t enough.”
In a disappointing finish in Bloomington, Ind., the Wisconsin women’s soccer team (4-5-1 Big Ten, 9-6-2 overall) was shutout 1-0 by conference foe Indiana (6-4-0, 13-4-1) in the Badgers’ final road match of the regular season Sunday.
