The record-breaking Badgers’ (18-1 Big Ten, 31-3 overall) season had to come to an end eventually, but to have it come from fellow Big Ten competitor Penn State (18-2, 34-3) made it sting just a little more. Wisconsin fell in four sets 25-22, 16-25, 22-25, 19-25 Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky.
No. 2 Wisconsin (28-2 overall) is ready to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament starting Thursday against Western Michigan (22-13). The Badgers clinched the Big Ten title last weekend after defeating Purdue (22-10) in three sets.

The No. 4 Badgers’ winning streak continued as they swept Indiana (14-10, 5-7) in Bloomington.
No. 4 Wisconsin (10-1 Big Ten, 19-2 overall) defeated No. 13 Purdue (8-3, 18-5) Wednesday night, as the Badgers swept the Boilermakers 28-26, 25-16 and 25-19 to increase their winning streak to 10 games.
The No. 5 Badgers’ (9-1 Big Ten, 18-2 overall) win streak continued after they defeated No. 14 Nebraska (6-4, 12-7) Sunday afternoon at the UW Field House. Wisconsin swept Nebraska in three sets 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.
No. 5 Wisconsin (8-1 Big Ten, 17-2 overall) swept Iowa (1-8, 9-11) Wednesday night at the Field House to extend its winning streak to eight.
The No. 5 Badgers (6-1 Big Ten, 15-2 overall) defeated the No. 23 Golden Gophers (3-4, 13-5) Wednesday in three competitive sets of 25-16, 25-19 and 30-28, in the first of two matches this week between the border rivals.
