A committee has recommended Alec Shiva, arrested Nov. 10 for reportedly sexually assaulting another student, be expelled from UW-Madison.

A non-academic misconduct hearing committee found former UW-Madison student Alec Cook “responsible for violating university student conduct policies related to a crime of violence.”

A county judge has appointed two special prosecutors to take over the case of suspended UW-Madison student Alec Cook, whose preliminary trial is scheduled for Jan. 20.

Shiva, charged with felony counts of false imprisonment, strangulation and second-degree sexual assault, appeared at the Dane County Courthouse Tuesday morning.

Suspended UW-Madison student Alec Cook will be released from jail Friday after he posted bail, which was set at $100,000.

Six additional charges from five different women have been filed against suspended UW-Madison student Alec Cook, bringing his total number of criminal charges to 21.

Suspended UW-Madison junior Alec Cook is being charged with the alleged sexual assault of ten women.

Suspended UW-Madison freshman Alec Shiva, who was arrested in November for second-degree sexual assault, will appear in court for a preliminary hearing Dec. 27.
