It seems like every day I turn on the news, I don’t like what I see. I read headlines and get angry and worried about what is happening in my country; yet I turn away, I keep scrolling, I think ‘there’s nothing that I can do’ and instead watch cute puppy videos to cool my rage.
Last week, Paul Ryan announced he would not seek reelection in the 1st Congressional District of Wisconsin, ending a 20-year career as the representative for the southeastern part of the state and a three-year stint as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Good riddance.

Hip hop has always been a genre that evolves with the times. Since it was born in the early 80s in the Bronx, hip hop has changed with the culture and has had a growing influence on our society. Over the years, there have been various styles of rap but the current most popular form, mumble rap, is the most dumbed-down version of hip hop yet and is a disgrace to the proud lyrical tradition that was built by legends of the past. When hip hop was first created, it had elements of jazz, spoken word poetry and soul music.
Our generation cannot get enough of social media. It is an addiction that grips our society and defines our times.
